Fauna Solutions have extensive experience in developing and implementing Species Management Plans (SMP). The purpose of a SMP is to minimise the impact of a particular project on threatened species and their habitat, ensuring their continued presence and success in the project area.
Developing a SMP involves a thorough knowledge of the requirements of the project, state and federal government legislation and the threatened species involved. Fauna Solutions have previously been involved in the development of SMP’s for species including Grey Snakes (endangered), Rough-collared Frogs (near threatened), Golden-tailed Geckos (near threatened) and Ornamental Snakes (vulnerable).
We liaise directly with government authorities to ensure an appropriate, functional management plan is created that ensures both protection of the threatened species involved and the smooth progress of the project at hand.
